special projects
These involve close collaborations spanning months (or even years).
America’s New Map
Described as a “Graphic novel for futurists”, this book by Thomas P.M. Barnett explores a path forward for the United States during a time of systemic upheaval around the world. My illustrations provide a visual metaphor for each essay in the book, and each can be repurposed for use in presentations, social media, and blog posts
The Primes
In this book, and throughout his practice, consultant Chris McGoff presents business and leadership concepts in a straight-forward and easily digestible way. I created the illustrations in the style of a back-of-the-napkin sketch, to present each concept in its purest form. This simplicity adds impact and makes the images that much more memorable.
Throughline’s Strategic Placemats
Each year Throughline, Inc. develops a large-format “placemat” that illustrates the company’s strategic approach and sets the tone for the coming months. Concepts range from “exploration” and “discovery” through “innovation” and “execution.” Full of quirky details, the illustrations communicate and inspire both internal and external audiences, and serve as a touchpoint throughout the year.

Incrementor Agile Kata series
An ongoing series of instructional posters and books developed by Joe Krebs that explore a variety of group processes often used in software development. The simple illustrations and bold colors help to enliven descriptions of the processes, and the playful style makes the information more approachable.
